How it works
Set it up once, then let it run.
01Install and sign in
Download the app and sign in with your Tailride account. Sign-in happens in your normal browser, so you never type your Tailride password into the app.
02Add your suppliers
Pick the portals you buy from, connect Proton Mail, or point the app at a folder. Choose how far back to go and — if you like — save the portal login so the app can sign in for you.
03Let it run
The app checks for new invoices on the schedule you pick: every hour, day, week, month or quarter. New invoices show up in Tailride and go on to your accounting software.

Signs in for you — even with 2FA
Save a portal login and the app signs in by itself. If a portal asks for a code from your authenticator app, the app can enter that too, so nothing waits for you.
More than one account per portal
Two Amazon accounts, three Google Ads accounts? Add each one separately. They stay completely apart, so nothing gets mixed up.

Proton keeps your email private, so cloud services can't read it. The desktop app reads it on your computer instead and turns email receipts into PDFs.

On your computer — not on someone else's server
Most invoice-fetching services work from the cloud: you give them your portal passwords, and their servers log in on your behalf. Tailride Desktop takes a different approach.

Built so your logins stay with you
- You sign in through your own browser; the app only receives a key for your account, stored in your computer's protected storage.
- Saving portal passwords is optional. When you do, they go into the Mac Keychain or Windows' protected storage — not into a file, and never to us.
- Each portal account runs in its own separate session, like a private browser window that stays private.
- Proton Mail is read on your computer. Only files that look like invoices are sent to Tailride.
- One button in Settings signs you out, forgets every saved login and removes all the app's data.

Frequently asked questions
Is the desktop app free?
Yes. Downloading and installing it is free. Collecting invoices uses the credits of your Tailride account, the same credits the extension and email scanning use. There is no extra charge per computer.
Do I still need the browser extension?
No, but you can keep it. Both collect from the same portals. Many people use the extension for a quick one-off download and let the desktop app handle the regular runs.
How often does it collect?
Whenever you like — every hour, day, week, month or quarter, at the time you choose, or only when you press Collect. You can change this at any time in Settings.
Does it work while my computer is asleep?
It runs whenever your computer is on, even with the browser closed. If a scheduled run falls into a time when the computer was asleep, it catches up as soon as the computer wakes.
Where are my portal passwords kept?
In your computer's own protected storage — the Keychain on a Mac, Windows' protected storage on a PC. That is the same place your computer keeps its own passwords. Saving them is optional: without a saved password, the app shows you the portal's login page once and remembers the session.
Does it work with two-factor authentication?
Yes. If a portal uses an authenticator app, you can give the app the same setup key the portal shows next to its QR code, and it will enter the codes for you. For SMS codes or a captcha, the app shows you the page once and keeps the session afterwards.
Which portals are supported?
The same ones as the browser extension — Amazon, Stripe, AWS, Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Meta, OpenAI and many more. The full list is on the supported portals page.
Can I add two accounts for the same portal?
Yes. Add the portal twice and sign in to a different account each time. The two are kept completely separate.
Does it keep a copy of the files on my computer?
Yes, by default. Every invoice is saved to Downloads/Tailride, sorted by supplier and account. You can pick another folder or turn this off in Settings.
My Mac says the app can't be verified, or Windows shows a warning. What now?
On a Mac: right-click Tailride, choose Open, then Open again. On Windows: click More info, then Run anyway. Both messages come from the operating system when it sees a new app for the first time, and only appear once.
How do I remove everything?
Settings → Advanced → Delete data signs you out, forgets every saved login and removes the app's data. On Windows, uninstalling does the same. The invoice PDFs in your Downloads folder are kept.
Is there a Linux version?
Not yet. On Linux and Chromebooks, use the browser extension for Chrome or Edge.
