Never twice
The app remembers each file by its contents, not its name. Rename it, move it, copy it into another watched folder — it is still sent only once.
Tailride Desktop watches any folder on your computer — your scanner's output, your Downloads, the folder your bookkeeper shares with you — and picks up every new invoice PDF or photo on its own. Read, coded and sent on to your accounting software, without anyone uploading anything.
Looks like you're on macOS. The download is a .dmg file — free, and you can install it before you sign in.
Paper receipts you scan, PDFs you download from a portal by hand, files a colleague saves to a shared drive: they all end up in a folder somewhere. A watched folder turns that folder into an inbox for Tailride.
Set up once in the desktop app, then forget about it.
In Tailride Desktop, add a supplier and pick "Folder on this computer". Any folder works, including cloud-synced ones like Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive on your disk.
Every hour, day, week — whatever suits how the folder fills up. You can also press Collect any time.
Every PDF, JPG, PNG or HEIC the app hasn't seen before is sent to Tailride, read and coded. Subfolders are included.
They appear in your Tailride account like any other invoice and go on to Xero, QuickBooks, sevDesk, Lexware Office, e-conomic, Odoo, Sage and the rest.

Organise by year, client or supplier; the app looks up to four levels deep. Hidden files and folders are skipped.
Phone photos of receipts and scanner output are read just like PDFs. Files that clearly aren't invoices are skipped before upload.
From the menu bar or system tray, on your schedule, with the browser closed. Large batches are spread over several runs.
ZUGFeRD and Factur-X PDFs saved to the folder are recognised as e-invoices and read from their XML.
The app reads nothing outside the folders you chose. Remove a folder and it stops immediately.
PDF and common image formats (JPG, PNG, HEIC). Other files in the folder are ignored.
Files over 25 MB are skipped. A single run sends up to 200 files; anything beyond that goes on the next run, so a big backlog clears in a few runs.
Nothing happens — the app recognises files by their contents, so a moved or renamed file is not sent again.
No. The folder is only read. Your files stay exactly where they are.
Yes, as long as the folder is synced to your computer's disk. Tailride also connects to Google Drive and OneDrive directly in the cloud if you prefer not to run the desktop app.
The file is sent as-is; Tailride reads the date, supplier and amounts from the document itself, just as it does for email attachments.
