Invoice collection tools, side by side

Six tools that collect supplier invoices for you, compared on the things that decide whether they fit: where the portal logins actually run, what happens with two-factor authentication, which mailboxes and folders they can read, how they handle e-invoices, and what they cost to start.

Competitor details were checked against each vendor's own pricing and product pages (July–August 2026) and are quoted on our individual comparison pages. Tell us if something is out of date.

Where each tool is genuinely stronger

GetMyInvoices

A catalogue of 10,000+ portals, DATEV export, GoBD-compliant archiving and an optional approval module. If DATEV is your world and you want the widest portal list, it is the reference.

invoicefetcher

The lowest prices for automated collection from German portals, a free tier, and hand-offs to DATEV and most DACH accounting systems.

Dext

Best-in-class mobile receipt capture with offline mode, expense reports and mileage, and practice tools for accountants with many clients.

Hubdoc

Free with every paid Xero plan and unlimited documents. Intake is upload, email forwarding and the mobile app — there is no automatic fetching from supplier portals.

AutoEntry

Excellent line-item OCR, purchase-order matching on Xero and QuickBooks, pooled credits across unlimited client companies, and credits that roll over.

Tailride

The only one where portal collection runs on your own computer with the logins kept there, plus Proton Mail, watched folders, direct inbox scanning with history, and e-invoices read from their XML.

Frequently asked questions

What does "where portal logins run" mean and why does it matter?

Every tool has to sign in to Amazon, Stripe or your telecom provider to fetch invoices. Cloud tools do that from their own servers, which means storing your portal passwords with them and logging in from an unfamiliar location — the reason 2FA prompts and blocked logins are common. Tailride's desktop app and extension sign in from your own computer, and the passwords stay there.

Is this comparison neutral?

It is written by Tailride, so read it with that in mind. The competitor facts are taken from each vendor's own pricing and product pages and quoted with dates on our one-on-one comparison pages, and each tool's real strengths are listed above. If we got something wrong, tell us and we will fix it.

Why isn't Candis, Wellybox or another tool in the table?

The table only includes tools whose pricing and features we have verified on their own sites recently. Several others have their own comparison pages linked below.

Which tool is cheapest?

For a handful of invoices, Tailride's free tier (10 invoices a month) and invoicefetcher's free tier (30 documents, 2 portals) cost nothing. Above that it depends on volume: invoicefetcher stays cheapest for German portals, Hubdoc is free with Xero, and Tailride's $19 plan covers 75 invoices with unlimited portals.
