What's new
What changed in each version of Tailride Desktop. The app updates itself; you can also download any version below.
Version 1.0.3
Latest- 1,000+ invoices in one go: Tailride now handles suppliers with thousands of invoices. Large collections no longer stop part-way through downloading, and OpenAI API goes through every page of your billing history: organizations with a long history could get only ten invoices, although the run reported success. A very large first collection can take more than one run; each run picks up where the last one stopped.
- Long runs fixed for these suppliers: when reading a long invoice list took a while, Tailride could start collecting a second time alongside the first. That could end the run before the last invoice, upload the same invoice twice, or pair a document with the wrong transaction. Each run now collects once, all the way through. Fixed for:
- OpenAI API
- ChatGPT
- Microsoft 365
- Revolut Business
- Google Payments
- AWS
- AppSumo
- No more "Sign in required" when you are signed in: HubSpot and Fiverr could ask you to sign in again when they had no new invoices to collect, although you were signed in.
What's New in 1.0.2
- Correct November and December dates in Chinese, Japanese and Korean: invoices dated in November or December with 年/月/日 or 월 (for example 2025年12月7日) were filed as January or February. They now carry the right month.
- Same version as the browser extension: the desktop app and the Tailride browser extension now share version numbers, so a fix that ships in both has the same version everywhere.
What's New in 1.0.1
- OpenAI API collects your whole billing history: Tailride now opens OpenAI's current billing page and goes through every page of it, not just the first ten invoices. Everyday runs still stop as soon as they reach invoices you already have.
- OpenAI API payment receipts: turn on Also collect payment receipts in the OpenAI API supplier's settings to get the Stripe receipt of every paid invoice next to the invoice.
- Receipt options live with the supplier: Also collect Amazon Prime membership receipts moved from Settings into each Amazon supplier's settings, so you can choose per account. If you had it on, it stays on.
- Correct OpenAI API dates: invoices issued on a day that matches the month number (such as 9 September) were dated a few days off. They now carry the date OpenAI shows.
- ChatGPT and OpenAI API invoices are always saved as PDFs: when Stripe was slow to hand over an invoice, Tailride could save the wrong file. It now waits for the PDF and tries again on the next run.
What's New in 1.0.0
- Tailride for Linux: Tailride now runs on Ubuntu and other Linux distributions. Install the
.debon Ubuntu (it sets up everything Ubuntu 24.04 needs to run the app securely), or use the AppImage elsewhere. Start at login, the top-bar icon and passwords saved in your system keyring (GNOME Keyring or KWallet) all work as on macOS and Windows. - Teach Tailride a new supplier: can't find a supplier in the list? Choose Teach Tailride a new supplier, enter its website and sign in. Then point the recorder at your invoices. Tailride remembers the page where you picked them, and the sign-in you did carries over to the new supplier.
- Find with AI: in the recorder, Find with AI suggests the invoice rows, dates, amounts and download links for you. Add your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Gemini key under Settings → AI assist; it is stored encrypted on your computer.
- Custom portals: Settings → Custom portals lists the portals you recorded or imported. Record a new one, export one or all of them to share or move to another computer (the files also work in the browser extension), import files, or delete portals you no longer use.
- Import new suppliers: add suppliers from a
.jsonfile straight from the supplier list. - Newest invoices first: the invoice list now shows the most recently collected invoices at the top, grouped by the month they arrived. Sorting by document date is still in the sort menu.
- A new app icon: Tailride's icon now has its own background, so it stays visible on dark wallpapers, in a dark Dock and on the Windows desktop.
- Spotify: collects your whole payment history.
What's New in 0.9.0
- AliExpress works again: since 0.5.3, AliExpress runs finished without collecting anything. Receipts are collected again, and Tailride now takes the official receipt for each order where AliExpress has one (the order page is still used for orders without one). They are saved as PDFs.
- Every Meta ad account: Meta Ads used to collect only the ad account the billing page happened to open on. Leave the account list empty and Tailride now finds every ad account your sign-in can see, across all your businesses, and collects each one. You can also list the accounts yourself.
- Account IDs in the supplier settings: Meta Ads, Google Ads, Vercel, TikTok Ads and HubSpot need an ID Tailride cannot find on its own page. You can now enter these in the supplier's settings, with help on where to find each one.
- Faster everyday runs: after a successful run, the next one now looks back 3 days instead of 45, so it no longer re-reads weeks of invoices it already has. Amazon, AliExpress and eBay keep 45 days, because they often issue the invoice weeks after the order. To go back further, use Collect everything again.
- Smoother sign-in: signing in with Google works in more places. Tailride recognises the AliExpress and Meta Business sign-in pages, so the window no longer disappears or jumps back while you are still signing in, and passkey prompts no longer appear inside Tailride's windows.
What's New in 0.8.0
- Chat with support from the app: a new Support entry in the sidebar opens a chat with the Tailride team, the same one as on the web dashboard. It already knows which Tailride account you are writing from, so there is nothing to fill in, and a conversation you started on the web carries on here.
- Help before you sign in: the sign-in screen has a Chat with us link too, for when signing in is the problem.
- Kept separate: the chat runs in a window of its own with no access to the app, your suppliers or your stored passwords, and a link the support team sends you opens in your browser.
What's New in 0.7.0
- Collection only looks at what is new: until now every run walked a supplier's invoice list all the way back to your start date, every time. The first run of a supplier still does, but once a run has finished successfully, later runs only look back 45 days before that run. Portals publish invoices a little after the date printed on them, and that overlap catches those; anything already collected is skipped as before. Runs are shorter, and suppliers with years of history are no longer re-read from the beginning every night.
- Nothing is skipped by accident: your start date stays a hard floor — nothing older than it is ever collected — and a run that failed, timed out or only opened a sign-in never moves the window forward. To go through a supplier's whole history again, open its account options and use Collect everything again.
- Amazon opens faster: when a run only needs the last few months, Amazon's order list opens on its default view instead of stepping through one year at a time.
- "Continue with Google" explained: Google refuses to sign in inside app windows. Tailride now recognises that page, steers you back to the supplier's own email sign-in and says so plainly, instead of leaving the window sitting on Google's error.
- Better diagnostics: runs report more about what they did, so a portal that quietly finds nothing is easier to spot and fix.
What's New in 0.6.0
- Tailride in your language: the app is now available in German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese as well as English. It follows your system language by default; pick a language under Settings → Language to pin one. Dates, times and the supplier portals Tailride signs into follow the same choice.
- Steady layout: the content column no longer shifts sideways between Suppliers, Invoices, Vault and Settings — the scrollbar's space is reserved on every tab, so nothing jumps when one list is longer than the window.
- Polish: a taller title bar with more breathing room under it, wider page subtitles, and invoice amounts lined up with tabular figures.
What's New in 0.5.3
- Portable build keeps to itself: the Windows portable build now stores everything in a
Tailride Datafolder next to the.exeinstead of%APPDATA%\Tailride, and no longer writes the updater's.updaterIdmachine marker.--user-data-dir=<path>moves the data folder for any build. - Portable updates by hand: the portable build never downloads or installs an update on its own — "Check for updates" only looks and offers the release page to download from. (Previously it could fetch the installer and turn a portable copy into an installed one.)
- Delete my data: Settings → Advanced → "Delete data…" signs out, forgets stored logins and passwords, removes settings and caches, and quits. Saved invoices are kept. Uninstalling the Windows installer build now removes
%APPDATA%\Tailrideas well. - Settings: the About section shows where Tailride keeps its data, with a "Show" button; the portable build warns that "Start at login" points the system at the file's current location.
What's New in 0.5.2
- Update experience: The "Restart now" / "Restart to update" button now immediately disables and displays a "Restarting…" spinner to provide clear feedback and prevent accidental duplicate clicks.
- System tray: Added real-time "Restarting to install update…" status in the tray menu when an update restart is triggered.
- Settings design: Improved the formatting and alignment of the "What's new" release notes card in Settings.
What's New in 0.5.1
- Update process: small fixes to installing an update — the restart button is blocked while the update is being applied.
What's New in 0.5.0
- Sign in through your browser: signing in now opens tailride.so in your own browser and hands the app a key for your account, so your Tailride password is never typed into the app. "Sign in in a window instead" keeps the previous flow as a fallback.
- Sign out everywhere: revoking the app under Settings → Security on tailride.so signs the app out right away.
What's New in 0.4.0
- Updates you control: automatic updates can be turned off in Settings, and a "What's new" card shows what changed in the installed version.
What's New in 0.3.0
Initial public release of Tailride Desktop for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows.
- Background collection from supplier portals on a schedule, from the menu bar or system tray, with catch-up after sleep and native notifications.
- Password vault in the macOS Keychain / Windows protected storage, with authenticator-app (TOTP) codes entered automatically.
- Several accounts per portal in separate sessions, and shared sign-ins for related portals (Google Ads, Google Cloud, Google Pay).
- Proton Mail via Proton Mail Bridge, with email receipts turned into PDFs on your computer.
- Watched folders: every new PDF or image in a folder is uploaded once.
- Local copies of every invoice in Downloads/Tailride, with one-click retry for failed uploads.
- Automatic updates from GitHub Releases.

Version 0.9.0
